On May 4, 2011 at 1:30, Indiana’s Court of Appeals will webcast arguments in a family law case addressing relocation. T.L. vs. J.L., No. 54A01-1008-DR-386. Mother T.L. appeals order denying her petition to relocate from Indiana to Tennessee with her two minor children, of whom she was granted primary custody following her dissolution of marriage. Mother argues she has legitimate, good faith reasons to move. Mother also argues that father J.L. failed to meet his burden of showing the move would not be in the children’s best interest.
Family law attorneys will be watching this case and awaiting the Court’s opinion as relocation is a frequent issue in post-dissolution and paternity cases. Indiana has one of the more strict relocation statutes in the nation.
